Privacy Policy

Salins & Co., Company Secretaries ("we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through csavilsalins.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and your rights in respect of it. This Policy is issued in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
1. Data fiduciary
For the purposes of the DPDP Act, the Data Fiduciary is Salins & Co., Company Secretaries, having its principal office at BHIVE Platinum, 48, Church Street, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560001. Grievance contact: avil@csavilsalins.com.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal data that you voluntarily submit through our forms:
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
- Consultation booking: name, email, phone number, preferred date/time and the nature of the matter you wish to discuss.
We do not use website analytics, tracking pixels, advertising cookies or profiling tools. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
3. How we use your data
We use the information you provide solely to:
- respond to your enquiry and, where you have requested it, schedule a consultation;
- conduct a preliminary conflict check before accepting an engagement;
- maintain professional records as required by the ICSI Code of Conduct and applicable law.
4. Legal basis
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (given by submitting a form) and, where applicable, our legitimate purpose of responding to communications directed to us, as recognised under the DPDP Act.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not share it with any third party except: (a) with your prior consent; (b) with our email/hosting service providers strictly to operate the Site and deliver our email; or (c) where required by a court, tribunal, regulator (including the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and ICSI) or applicable law.
6. Retention
Enquiry and consultation submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the date of last correspondence, after which they are deleted, unless a professional engagement has commenced — in which case records will be retained in accordance with our engagement letter and the record-retention obligations applicable to Company Secretaries in Practice.
7. Security
We follow reasonable security practices in line with Rule 8 of the IT Rules, 2011, including access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS) and vendor due diligence. However, no system is entirely immune from risk; you acknowledge this residual risk when sending information over the internet.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you may:
- request access to and a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction, updating or erasure of your personal data;
- withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing carried out before withdrawal);
- nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
- make a grievance to us at the address below, and, if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India.
